An Italian cartoon character created in the early 1960s, Calimero is a bit apart in its category. Calimero was not originally created with the aim of being a cartoon character. Its creation was for advertising purposes.

But before reaching this level, Calimero is put back in the context of an animated series with a non-advertising purpose.

The series that lasted one minute will gradually take up space and then go to 5 and then 20 minutes. The cartoon was such a success that the episodes destined for the international market would be exported to Japan. Toei produced it in 47 episodes between 1974 and 1975 before a new version of 52 episodes was broadcast in the 1990s.

Calimero, the unlucky little chick

Calimero sees himself as an unlucky character and he keeps complaining about his situation. His reply "It's really too unfair" at the end of each episode enters the collective imagination and since then, it has become the symbol of people who are victims of persecution syndrome or those who complain in a derisory way.
