Which schoolbag to grow up healthy ? Practical advice, essential criteria and recommended models for a stress-free...
For parents and children alike, the start of CP is an important step. Indeed, the arrival in primary school marks a real turning point and the needs especially in terms of school supplies are not the same as in kindergarten and large section. To get this change off to a good start, it is therefore important to be prepared for it and it starts with choosing the binder. If the smaller classes require little material, now, starting from CP, your child will have to learn to do his homework and start reading, writing and math. Getting done, apart from his kit with his pencils, he will have to be able to store in his binder books as well as notebooks
While this might seem simple, the choice of binder is actually not as easy as it seems. Indeed, on the market, among the many models offered, it is easy to get lost. One of the biggest dilemmas a parent faces is the choice between a backpack or a wheeled binder. Here's what you need to know to make the right decision.
We see a lot of them on the playgrounds of primary schools, the wheeled school bag is not only fashionable among the youngest but it also exempts them from wearing their school supplies on their backs in favor of a telescopic handle and wheels that allow them to make roll their binder as they might do for a travel suitcase. Designed to prevent back pain in children, the wheeled binder can be a good idea. Nevertheless, with its handle and wheels, you should know that the empty weight of a binder like this is heavier than a backpack with straps. Therefore, it will not be the most suitable for a child who will have to go up and down stairs several times a day. There is also a tendency to load a wheeled binder more and when it is too heavy, it can lead to poor postures in the child as well as pain in the lower back.
You don't choose the same size of binder for a child in CP as you do for a child in fifth grade, for example. Not only are the needs for school supplies different, but the morphology is not the same either. Given his age and CP needs, a binder measuring between 35 and 38 centimetres and a width of between 12 and 15 centimetres is considered sufficient.
It is important that the binder is not disproportionate to your child's morphology. The clue to see you is the width of the shoulders: if the binder exceeds too much shoulders, it is because you have to bet for the size below!
Aside from choosing wheels or shoulder straps and selecting the right size, other criteria should also be considered when choosing your child's schoolbag for their return to CP.
Even if your child is growing and you're probably going to have to change his schoolbag quickly enough, that doesn't mean you have to replace him every year! Also, it's a good idea to choose a binder designed in solid materials that will withstand the vagaries of time and any manhandling that your child will suffer. For a sustainable investment, it may be good to spend a little more on the purchase so that you don't have to invest again in the following months.
At the beginning of primary school, your child will slowly start to take responsibility and perhaps he will have to take the school bus, for example. In order to increase its visibility with motorists (especially in the early morning and evening after school), it is better to choose a binder with reflective strips. Note that some labels guarantee optimal security for the schoolbags concerned. In any case, be sure to choose only binders or backpacks with a CE (European Community) or NF (French Standards) marking. These attest to the quality, reliability and safety of the product purchased.
Finally, don't forget the design of the binder which is a very important criterion for your child! There are many possibilities and you will undoubtedly find the model that will please him!
