In this agonizing period when the covid-19 pandemic is circulating in France, many are questioning the effective ways to fight and protect themselves from this virus. Among them are the many parents who bring their children to school. The subject is sensitive and has been debated for many weeks about the possible risk of leaving your child in school. However, in order to reassure parents but also to ensure optimal safety, many means have been put in place in schools to minimise the risk of contamination. However, some additional measures are worth considering: should children's school affairs be disinfected and, if so, with which products?
The reopening of schools and colleges has caused a stir for the new year 2020. In response to parental concern, schools have taken drastic measures to limit the risk of the virus spreading. In addition to social distancing, a very strict protocol for disinfecting common areas, furniture, equipment and various surfaces has been put in place. In addition to this health protocol, disinfection of school affairs can also be useful in addition to this health protocol.
Depending on the school, there are more or less children per class. Also, it is possible that, despite the protocol in place, the virus is circulating. In addition, it is usual for children to lend their school affairs (pencils, erasers ...) to each other. In order to avoid contamination as much as possible, disinfecting supplies is therefore a good solution.
To effectively disinfect your children's school supplies, you don't need to use very aggressive products like bleach. For pencils, rules and other plastic materials, you can use a disinfectant containing at least 70% alcohol. Let them soak for a few moments before wiping them with a clean cloth.
The fabrics, on the other hand, are less likely to support this type of product. To clean more fragile materials such as the kit or binder, simply use water and soap, soak and rub the material before letting it dry in the open air.
When it comes to disinfectants, it is rare to think of soap. Too soft, not effective enough, too little abrasive ... Many doubt the effectiveness of soap against COVID. However, this product is actually very effective against the virus.
Composed of tensioactive molecules, soap is a formidable ally to fight COVID. Indeed, these molecules react in different ways depending on whether they are in contact with water or with a fat body. When washing your hands or cleaning a surface with soap, the molecules in the product will be attracted to the virus, which is a fatty body. So they're going to hold on to it. At the time of rinsing, these same molecules will be attracted to water. These different forces exerted on the virus will disorganize it and then destroy it.
Thus, hydroalcoholic gel should not be used systematically. If this product proves effective in neutralizing the virus on hands or surfaces, it proves ineffective on dirty hands. In addition, its repeated use can be irritating to the skin. Its use should therefore be reserved for your travels.
