David Kracov, whose brush was guided by the ever-changing muse of pop culture, whose paste was shaped by the English-language puns, and whose drawings brought to life through his literary prowess, left an undeniable mark on the world.
From modern art Sculptor, painter and animator, his hands have also contributed to films including the historical form The Lion King and The Swan and the Princess.
David really understands how to win the hearts of young and old. He started his career at the age of 12, when he was introduced as one of the youngest artists showcased in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, David developed his raw talent by pursuing and receiving a degree from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design.
Beginning as a child artist, David remained faithful to his canvas throughout his working life. The creation of the world-renowned sculpture commissioned by the Holocaust Museum in St Petersburg, Florida, which depicts the tazmanian devil, changed David's life forever.
David now adds a unique butterfly to each piece he creates, sometimes visible, sometimes hidden. This butterfly, this tribute to the delicacy and value of life, has become a child that marks David's signature that you can of course find in our section Statuettes Betty Boop.
As a tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, David created the metal wall sculpture, 'Reflections', which depicts the New York sky, with its signature butterflies soaring to the sky, where the towers once stood. In the reflections below, the towers can be seen. Sculptures of this edition adorn the walls of several great New York real estate tycoons.
David's passion for children extends far beyond his frames, he has led the way in unexplored genres. After inspiring so many children through his work, having animated so many adults and helping people reconnect with their childhood cultures, through his metal sculptures and shadowboxes, 'Rescue Art.'
David recently created a line of artwork to save the lives of children in great need. This line has already raised thousands of dollars for the Chabad children of the Chernobyl disaster the only organization in the world that permanently evacuates and treats sick children from the Chernobyl region.
To date, with David's help, CCOC has saved the lives of more than 2,600 children. David's sculptures are on display in the collections of several Hollywood names including the best known, Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, Judy Sheindlin, Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Whoopi Goldberg, Joel Silver, and Richard Donner.
